According to reports from Italian media outlets, Jose Mourinho has stated that his focus is solely on AS Roma at the moment. The former Chelsea manager reportedly turned down an approach from his former club as he waits to determine his future with the Italian team. Mourinho’s current contract with Roma is set to expire in June 2024, and he has been linked with various other jobs, including coaching the Brazilian national team or taking over at Paris Saint-Germain.
As per Corriere dello Sport, Mourinho was contacted by a Chelsea director who wanted to discuss the possibility of him returning to West London, adding him to the list of possible candidates for the job. However, the Portuguese coach declined the offer, emphasizing his desire to meet with owner Dan Friedkin and remain with Roma.
Mourinho has showcased his coaching prowess during his tenure with Roma, winning their first major European title last season in the Europa Conference League. Although this season has presented some challenges, the Giallorossi have made it to the Europa League semi-finals under his guidance.
