Renowned media personalities Shaffie Weru and Kamene Goro are set to make a comeback to radio as they jointly host the NRG Transit show at NRG Radio. The two will be joined by DJ Pierra Makena for the four-hour show every Friday from 3 pm to 7 pm.
The program will be broadcast live on the station’s radio waves, streaming platforms, and the official NRG website.
Shaffie and Kamene will be taking over from Mwalimu Rachel, who previously hosted the show alongside DJ Xclusive. Shaffie has been out of the radio studio for two years while Kamene took a three-month break after leaving Kiss FM in January 2023.
Shaffie was suspended from Homeboys Radio in March 2021 after being accused of making controversial comments. On the other hand, Kamene focused on her brand and sponsorship deals.
Nonetheless, Phelix Jalang’o Odiwour, her former co-host and Langata Member of Parliament, disclosed that her return to radio was inevitable.
Kamene made headlines on April 20 after tying the knot with David Pyper alias Deejaybonez254. A lawyer by training, she ventured into the media industry as a news anchor and presenter for Ebru TV before joining NRG Radio in 2017, working alongside, Andrew with Kiss 100.
